A New Yorker who has lived and worked in the Deep South for over two decades, Altman's work focuses on race, civil rights, the South, and everyday life.

Altman depicts the life and stories of the underrepresented and undeserved through the lens of her camera. Suzi's most special gift is her ability to connect with her subjects, as well as put them at ease.

She has worked for national publications such as The New York Times, The London Observer, and The Associated Press.
