OSEA to Present Free Lecture on Plastic Packaging and the Environment
The Ocean Springs Environmental Alliance invites you to attend a lecture featuring Elizabeth Englebretson speaking about “Plastic Packaging: Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Corporations, False Solutions, and What We Can Do." The event is set for Thursday, February 22, at the Mary C. Cultural Center in Ocean Springs, 6 p.m. for a wine & cheese reception, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. for the lecture.
This talk will focus on single use consumer goods packaging and the decades of false solutions that have created a plastic disaster that touches even the most remote places on our planet. What can we do to prevent the use of plastic before it becomes waste despite the consumer culture built around plastic packaging? Join the discussion!
Elizabeth Englebretson, a MSU Extension Associate, is program coordinator for Plastic Free Gulf Coast and program co-lead for SWAPS (Sustainability with Awareness and Prevention Solutions) at the MSU Coastal Research and Extension Center.
